Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how GrabFullPage ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our Chrome browser extension and related services.

1. Browser Permissions We Request

GrabFullPage requests the following Chrome permissions to deliver its core functionality. We request only the minimum permissions necessary.

  • activeTab — Required to capture the visible content of the tab you are currently viewing when you initiate a screenshot. We do not access any other tab.
  • tabs — Required to enable full-page scrolling captures, which must coordinate across the visible viewport.
  • storage — Required to save your extension preferences (output format, shortcut settings, theme) locally in your browser.
  • downloads — Required to save captured images or PDFs directly to your device's download folder.
  • scripting — Required to inject a lightweight content script into the active tab to perform the scrolling capture algorithm. The script only runs when you explicitly trigger a capture.
  • offscreen (if applicable) — Used to stitch image tiles together without requiring an extra visible window.

We do not request or use history, bookmarks, cookies, webRequest, or identity permissions.

2. Data We Collect

Extension (Free Tier)

The free extension operates entirely locally on your device. We collect:

  • Anonymous usage events — Aggregated, non-identifiable counts of feature usage (e.g., "full-page capture initiated") to understand which features are used most. No URLs, page content, or personal identifiers are included.
  • Crash reports — If the extension encounters an unhandled error, an anonymised error trace (no page content or URL) may be sent to our error monitoring service.

Account Registration (Pro)

If you subscribe to GrabFullPage Pro, we collect:

  • Your email address — to manage your account and send receipts.
  • Billing information — processed entirely by our payment provider (Stripe). We never see or store your full credit card number.
  • Subscription status — to unlock Pro features in the extension.

3. Data We Do Not Collect

We want to be explicit about what we never collect:

  • The content, text, or HTML of the web pages you visit
  • URLs of pages you visit (except transiently in memory during an active capture, never transmitted)
  • Your browsing history
  • Keystrokes, form inputs, or passwords
  • Your IP address beyond what is inherent in any HTTPS connection
  • Device identifiers, fingerprints, or advertising IDs
  • Captures or screenshots you take (free tier) — these stay on your device

4. Your Screenshots & Captures

Screenshots and captures you create with GrabFullPage belong to you. On the free tier, all captures are saved directly to your device (via the browser's download system) and never transmitted to our servers. The extension does not read, store, or analyse the content of your captures.

On the Pro tier with Cloud Sync enabled, captures are encrypted before transmission and stored in your private cloud storage (see Section 5). You can delete individual captures or your entire library at any time.

5. Cloud Sync (Pro)

Pro subscribers may optionally enable Cloud Sync to access captures across devices. When enabled:

  • Captures are encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2+.
  • Captures are stored in your private, isolated storage bucket. Our staff do not access your files except to investigate a specific, user-reported technical support issue, and only with your explicit permission.
  • You can disable Cloud Sync at any time in the extension settings, which stops new uploads and optionally deletes your stored library.
  • If you delete your account, all cloud-stored captures are permanently deleted within 30 days.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services. Each is bound by its own privacy policy:

  • Stripe — Payment processing for Pro subscriptions. stripe.com/privacy
  • Google Analytics (anonymised) — Aggregate website analytics only (this website, not the extension). IP anonymisation is enabled; no cross-site tracking.
  • Sentry — Anonymised crash reporting from the extension. No page content or URLs are included in reports.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for advertising purposes.

7. Chrome Web Store Compliance

GrabFullPage complies with the Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

  • We only use data to provide and improve the GrabFullPage extension's core functionality.
  • We do not transfer user data to third parties except as necessary to provide the service, for legal compliance, or with your explicit consent.
  • We do not use or transfer user data for serving advertisements.
  • We do not allow humans to read user data unless you provide explicit in-product consent, or it is necessary for security purposes, or it is required by law.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain data only as long as necessary:

  • Anonymous usage events — Retained in aggregate for up to 24 months, then purged.
  • Account data — Retained for the duration of your account plus 90 days after deletion to allow dispute resolution.
  • Cloud captures — Deleted immediately upon your request or within 30 days of account deletion.
  • Billing records — Retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance (stored by Stripe, not us).

9. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification — Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") — Request deletion of your personal data.
  • Right to data portability — Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Right to object — Object to processing of your data for certain purposes.
  • Right to opt out of sale (CCPA) — We do not sell personal data. This right is therefore always satisfied.

10. Children's Privacy

GrabFullPage is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify Pro subscribers by email. Your continued use of GrabFullPage after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
